Through its debt recovery efforts last month, the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) successfully collected MVR 497 million in outstanding payments. During the same period, the authority generated a total revenue of MVR 2.42 billion (including USD 98.08 million), marking a 14% increase compared to the previous year and exceeding initial projections by 24%. The primary contributors to this revenue were GST, amounting to MVR 1.25 billion, and Income Tax, totaling MVR 490 million. This growth in revenue is attributed to receipts following the extension of the Income Tax deadline, as well as increased collections from Tourism GST, resort lease period extension fees, and work permit fees.
