Ahmed Ashraf, CEO of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, has announced that a new mental health clinic will be established and operational within this year at Thinadhoo City. Highlighting the significant demand for mental healthcare services in Huvadhu Atoll and Thinadhoo, Ashraf stated that this clinic is being developed with a specialized design to cater specifically to these needs.
The construction of the facility has already commenced. Once operational, the clinic will not only provide a dedicated physical infrastructure but will also be staffed with specialized medical professionals in the field of mental health. This initiative marks a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to upgrade the hospital to tertiary standards, in alignment with the presidential pledge.
