The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, has announced that all land transportation services will be transitioned to digital platforms by the end of this coming August. Speaking at the Parliament, the Minister highlighted that efforts are underway to establish a more modern and streamlined system through ‘OneGov’, surpassing the capabilities of the existing infrastructure. This initiative aims to provide a permanent solution to the difficulties currently faced by the public. Furthermore, the Minister noted that the project to connect the entire Maldives through the RTL ferry network is expected to be completed by January next year, with services yet to be launched in only five remaining atolls.
