President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed that securing the welfare and rights deserved by the Maldivian military personnel and their families is his personal responsibility, expressing his commitment to achieving this objective. Speaking at the ceremony held to mark Military Day, the President stated that arrangements will be made to enable soldiers to serve in proximity to their home islands, noting that efforts to expand the military force are currently underway to facilitate this.
Furthermore, the President highlighted that regulations would be amended to support long-term military service and that retirement policies would be reformed. He also announced that a modern housing project in the Bandeyrikoshi area is scheduled to commence within the next eight months. Additionally, he provided assurances that enhanced training opportunities, both locally and internationally, would be facilitated to further develop the professional capabilities of the military.
