President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that holding the presidential and parliamentary elections on the same day would provide a fair and equitable opportunity for all political parties. The President highlighted that this approach would likely increase voter turnout and foster a more balanced representation of parties within the Parliament. Furthermore, he noted that conducting the two elections concurrently would eliminate potential obstacles to government operations, enabling the administration to deliver services at a high speed from the very first day and streamlining budgetary processes. Addressing concerns raised by the opposition, the President affirmed that sincere leaders will always remain dedicated to working closely with the people.
