President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that individuals with a monthly income exceeding MVR 60,000 will no longer be eligible for full Aasandha coverage. Instead, a co-payment or pre-pay system will be introduced for this income group. The President noted that this reform is expected to save MVR 287 million annually, which will be redirected towards other public welfare initiatives.
