First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has participated in a door-to-door campaign activities held in Dh. Meedhoo to garner support for the People’s National Congress (PNC) candidates contesting in the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections. As President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu also actively engages in these campaign efforts, the PNC has already secured 69 seats uncontested.
A total of 2,962 candidates are set to compete in the elections scheduled for April 4, with over 200,000 citizens eligible to vote. Furthermore, a public referendum will be conducted alongside the elections to determine the public’s stance on synchronizing all future elections to be held on a single day.
