Speaking at an official banquet in Sri Lanka, the President highlighted that the Indian Ocean serves as a vital bridge connecting the shared history and culture of both nations. He further emphasized that bilateral unity is essential for maintaining regional peace and stability.
Characterizing the relationship between the Maldives and Sri Lanka as one of close familial neighbors, the President expressed his profound gratitude for Sri Lanka’s significant contributions to the development of the Maldives. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of ongoing collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges of climate change, advancing digital transformation, promoting sustainable tourism, and developing the renewable energy sector.
