Bank of Maldives (BML) has yesterday introduced an international bank account feature to its “Swipe” digital wallet. This new addition enables users to open international accounts in USD, EUR, and GBP, facilitating seamless receipt of foreign currency payments from abroad. BML’s CEO, Mohamed Shareef, highlighted that this enhancement will provide significant convenience for freelancers and businesses engaged in international transactions. Since its launch earlier this year, the Swipe user base has grown to over 20,000, with more than 3,300 merchants already utilizing the service.
