This article examines certain detrimental practices conducted under the guise of journalism that overstep the boundaries established by Islamic Shari’ah and the Constitution. It emphasizes that every fundamental right is accompanied by inherent responsibilities, and that infringing upon the honor and reputation of any individual is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, the article asserts that the recent dissemination of baseless and defamatory allegations of Qazf (false accusation of unchastity) against the President—devoid of any substantiating evidence—cannot be justified under the principles of press freedom.
Additionally, the text highlights that the involvement of certain political figures who prioritize partisan interests by defending those spreading falsehoods serves only to incite discord (fitna) within society. It further notes that the refusal to cooperate with lawful investigations or to disclose sources raises significant doubts regarding the veracity of such claims. Ultimately, the article characterizes these actions as a form of character assassination, fueled by envy and orchestrated for political gain.
