The President’s Office has introduced a special portal allowing the public to submit video questions that will be directly answered by the President. The President’s Office announced today that citizens wishing to ask questions to the President via video can submit their recorded questions through the “Citizens’ Voice” portal on the President’s Office website. This portal can be accessed via https://citizensvoice.gov.mv or through the official website of the President’s Office.
The President’s Office stated that the President will respond to questions submitted by citizens through the “Citizens’ Voice” portal as part of the “President’s Response” series. The “President’s Response” series, launched in February 2024, is a format where the President directly answers video questions from citizens through video responses. Initially, questions were collected by a media team from the President’s Office meeting citizens and giving them opportunities to submit video questions.
However, this method did not provide equal opportunities for all citizens across the Maldives to ask questions to the President on various issues. Therefore, the “President’s Response” series was temporarily suspended until a portal could be created allowing any citizen to submit video questions. The series has now been relaunched with the “Citizens’ Voice” portal, which allows any citizen to submit any question to the President via video at any time.
