India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has met with Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Khaleel. The meeting took place in Delhi during Minister Khaleel’s current visit to India to participate in the 10th Raisina Dialogue. The Foreign Ministry stated that during this meeting, the two officials discussed ways to further strengthen ties in the development sector.

Additionally, the Ministry mentioned that the two ministers exchanged information about ongoing projects in the Maldives with Indian assistance and discussed potential areas for further development cooperation.

This is Minister Khaleel’s first official trip to India since assuming the role of Foreign Minister. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Dr. Abdullah Khaleel, who was previously the Health Minister, as the Foreign Minister on September 30 last year, replacing Moosa Zameer, who was moved to the position of Finance Minister.

After taking office as Foreign Minister, Minister Khaleel’s first meeting was with the Indian Ambassador.
