The Ministry of Housing has stated that those who applied for the 4000 flats under the Gedhoruverin (Homeowners) Scheme but did not get the opportunity will still have housing opportunities during this term, as per President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge. The list for the 4,000 flats was released on February 27.
After verifying everything, the final list shows that out of 3,721 applicants for three-bedroom flats, 1,423 qualified applicants scored above 75 points. For two-bedroom flats, out of 1,218 applicants, 397 qualified applicants scored above 73 points. Thus, out of the total 4,939 forms checked, 1,820 applicants have been designated to receive flats.
In a statement released today, the Ministry said that those who don’t get the opportunity for these flats won’t have to go through the trouble of reapplying for housing. As per President Dr. Muizzu’s pledge to ensure housing opportunities for every Maldivian citizen in need of housing and homeownership, they assure that these individuals will also have housing opportunities during this term.
