
The President has announced that the administration has initiated the process of transitioning the Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) into a 100% state-owned enterprise. Commenting on this transition, Managing Director Hussain Fahmy stated that reclaiming the 20% of shares previously divested will provide a definitive solution to the company’s current financial constraints and borrowing challenges. Furthermore, this shift is expected to bolster corporate governance, expedite the progress of ongoing development projects, and facilitate the expansion of infrastructure and services.
