
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, the Maldives welcomed 197,640 tourists last month, representing a 2.1% increase compared to the same period last year. While the majority of these arrivals were for leisure purposes, the total number of tourist arrivals for the year to date has seen a 3.7% decline compared to the previous year. The primary source markets for the Maldives currently include China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany, with most visitors opting to stay in resorts and guesthouses. On average, the country is presently recording 5,971 tourist arrivals per day.
