Speaking on “The Pulse” podcast in observance of National Engineers’ Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assured that the government will address the lack of employment opportunities within the engineering sector in the Maldives. The President noted that the scarcity of locals in this field is primarily due to job insecurity; therefore, measures will be implemented to reserve specific positions for Maldivians and allocate half of all student loans to fields such as science and engineering. Furthermore, the government has decided to establish a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory in the Maldives to foster the advancement of the industry.
