Tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom have reached 99,286, establishing the UK as the third-largest source market for the Maldives. Although this figure represents a 19 percent decline compared to the same period last year, the UK remains a vital market for the Maldivian tourism industry, following China and Russia. To date, the Maldives has welcomed over 1.2 million tourists this year, with the majority of visitors choosing to stay in resorts. Despite a 4.5 percent overall decrease in total arrivals compared to last year, China, Russia, Italy, and Germany continue to be among the top contributing markets to the country’s tourism sector.
