In his message on the occasion of the Maldives’ 61st Independence Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu emphasized the significance of prioritizing patriotism and strengthening social cohesion to preserve the independence inherited from our ancestors. While urging the youth to enhance their capabilities and take pride in their national identity, the President also paid tribute to the heroes of the nation’s independence. As Independence Day festivities continue today and tomorrow, the scheduled events include the flag-hoisting ceremony, an official reception to confer awards upon 61 individuals for their distinguished service to the state, as well as various drill performances and sporting activities.
