The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development has disclosed that 1,755 individuals out of the 3,548 eligible beneficiaries under the ‘Binveriya’ scheme have yet to receive their official land documentation for Gulhifalhu due to various reasons. While the registration and agreements for 3,043 plots have been processed to date, physical handover documents have only been issued to 1,793 recipients. The ministry noted that the remaining plots are currently situated in areas designated as active worksites or have been impacted by recent revisions to the Land Use Plan.

Although the ministry has initiated the online issuance of documents through the ‘Hiyaavehi’ portal, access is restricted to those who have already completed their registration process. Furthermore, land plots located within industrial or construction zones will be officially handed over upon the completion of ongoing site works. The revised Gulhifalhu master plan incorporates not only residential plots but also dedicated zones for essential services, including education, healthcare, and recreational facilities.
