The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has introduced significant amendments to its Criminal Procedure Regulations aimed at streamlining and accelerating the investigative process. Under these new changes, a mandatory preliminary assessment must be conducted before the commencement of any investigation, and a specific timeframe for the completion of the case must be established.
In prioritizing and categorizing cases, the Commission will now evaluate them based on 10 distinct criteria, including public interest and the extent of financial loss involved. These measures have been implemented to address the challenges of investigative delays and are part of the Commission’s new strategic plan to ensure more effective and result-oriented outcomes.
