President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has issued a formal decree outlining the strategic projects to be prioritized under the government’s economic and social policies, along with the stipulated minimum investment thresholds for such ventures. This decree, promulgated in accordance with the Tourism Act, encompasses key sectors including tourism, national defense, infrastructure and housing, youth and sports development, as well as environmental conservation and renewable energy.
The decree provides a comprehensive framework for infrastructure development, specifically detailing initiatives such as land reclamation, airport expansion, social housing projects, and the enhancement of utility services. Diverging from previous directives, this decree is structured to define broad sectoral priorities rather than focusing solely on individual projects, ensuring a more holistic approach to national development.
