The Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, has decided that all future official correspondences with Male’ City Mayor Adam Azim must be conducted exclusively in writing, citing concerns over the recurring misrepresentation of facts.
In a formal letter addressed to the Mayor, the Minister expressed that there has been a notable lack of cooperation from the Mayor’s side regarding the development projects of Male’ City. He further noted that verbal discussions were being distorted and portrayed inaccurately by the Mayor across various public platforms.
This decision follows an incident last Wednesday when the Mayor and City Councilors visited the Ministry, during which the Mayor characterized the Minister as someone who was “evading” his responsibilities. However, Minister Muththalib emphasized that rather than engaging in “media stunts,” the most professional and transparent course of action is to maintain all future interactions through formal written documentation to ensure clarity and accountability.
