President Elaborates on the Distinction Between Contrasting Ideologies

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has provided a detailed comparison between his administration’s “Nationalist Ideology” and what he characterized as the “destructive ideology” of the opposition. The President emphasized that the core philosophy of the People’s National Congress (PNC) is centered on upholding the tenets of Islam, safeguarding national sovereignty and stability, and ensuring the continued development and security of the Maldivian people. Furthermore, he highlighted that the current foreign policy is designed to foster strong diplomatic relations with all nations—with the exception of Israel—ensuring that all international engagements yield the maximum benefit for the Maldives.

Reflecting on the governance of previous administrations, the President noted that past policies often allowed the country to fall under the undue influence of specific foreign powers, leading to the isolation of the Maldives from certain international partners. He described the “destructive ideology” as one that prioritizes maintaining close ties with Israel and favors “alternative narratives” over the guidance of Islamic scholars. President Muizzu reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to steering the nation toward a future grounded in Islamic values and the supreme interest of the Maldivian people.
