
The Maldivian Ambassador to Japan, His Excellency Ahmed Mahloof, met with the Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Norikazu Suzuki, to discuss further enhancing bilateral relations in the fisheries and agriculture sectors.
During the meeting, Ambassador Mahloof highlighted Japan’s long-standing role as a vital partner in the development of the Maldivian fisheries industry, expressing appreciation for Japan’s continued support in technical assistance and human resource development. Furthermore, the discussions focused on strengthening the partnership as both nations prepare to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
