Referring to the results of the Hithadhoo North constituency by-election, PG Leader Ibrahim Falah stated that Addu City will transform into a stronghold for the People’s National Congress (PNC) by the 2028 presidential election. He noted that although the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidate secured the overall victory, the fact that the PNC candidate led the vote counts in the ballot boxes located within Hithadhoo is clear evidence of MDP’s waning influence in the region and growing support for President Dr. Muizzu. Furthermore, Falah asserted that these results signify the people of Addu rejecting both the MDP leadership and former President Yameen.
