Island Aviation Services Limited has reached a significant milestone in the construction of its new 12-story office building in Malé, with the structural phase now complete. According to the company’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Iyas, the overall project has now surpassed the 50 percent mark.
As the airline’s operations continue to expand and its workforce grows beyond 1,400 employees, the company has historically operated from various leased premises. The development of this new corporate headquarters is a strategic move aimed at eliminating the substantial costs associated with office rentals.
The project, which is being executed by a Chinese contractor, is scheduled for full completion by the end of this year. Once finished, the modern facility will house a dedicated ticketing office and provide integrated parking facilities for staff and customers.
