The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) successfully recovered MVR 543 million in outstanding dues during the month of April through its dedicated recovery efforts. The most significant portion of this amount, totaling MVR 372 million, was collected following the issuance of formal notices. Additionally, substantial funds were secured through dues clearance processes, installment agreements, telephonic follow-ups, and the implementation of recovery action policies. As part of its measures to strengthen enforcement, MIRA continues to publicize the names of taxpayers who fail to file tax returns or settle their payments; in the past month alone, the names of 48 such parties were disclosed to the public.
