Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, has stated that the current administration has achieved unprecedented success over the past two years in addressing the issue of undocumented expatriates, a feat that previous governments had failed to accomplish. According to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, through “Operation Kurangi,” biometrics have now been collected for 98 percent of expatriates holding valid work permits. This is a significant advancement considering that the figure stood at only 13 percent when this administration took office. Furthermore, a specialized operation to identify and deport those residing illegally in the country will be carried out over the next six months. The Minister congratulated the President on this progress, emphasizing that it represents a major achievement for national security.
