Under the leadership of Minister Abdulla Rafiu, the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports, and Fitness has embarked on a series of significant initiatives aimed at the holistic advancement of the nation’s youth. This institutional realignment emphasizes active engagement with young people, conducting comprehensive reviews of Youth Hubs to facilitate necessary reforms, and prioritizing national efforts to steer the youth away from drug and tobacco use to ensure a robust and healthy economy.
The primary mission of the Ministry is to foster a generation that is ethically grounded, self-reliant, and both mentally and physically resilient. Key strategies include diverting youth from criminal environments, creating sustainable economic opportunities, and providing essential counseling services. Additionally, the Ministry is dedicated to raising awareness regarding higher education and career pathways. Currently, numerous policies are being implemented to empower youth voices and enhance their participation in national development through social activities, recreation, and community involvement.
