The land reclamation project essential for the development of the airport and harbor in Sh. Milandhoo has reached 90 percent completion. This initiative, which involves the reclamation of 25 hectares of land, is being carried out with the assistance of Boskalis. The development of the airport has been officially entrusted to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
In alignment with the pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the government aims to finalize this project within the next two years. Furthermore, as part of this developmental scope, plans are underway to relocate and modernize the island’s harbor at a newly designated area.
