
Minister Gila Ali has stated that the consolidation of the health and social sectors into a single ministry will lead to more efficient and high-quality services for the public. Emphasizing the intrinsic link between these two fields, the Minister noted that an integrated approach would be more effective in disease prevention and in strengthening the support systems for individuals with disabilities and those in need of special assistance.
The Minister further highlighted the government’s objective to address the challenges faced by smaller populations by facilitating access to specialist medical care across the islands through expanded outreach programs. Additionally, she noted that efforts are underway to develop new hospitals and health centers, alongside the establishment of dedicated community centers specifically designed for senior citizens.
