The Maldives has recorded a total of 745,706 tourist arrivals so far this year. Although this figure represents a 3.5% decline compared to the same period last year, the industry is currently observing a resurgence in arrival numbers. While China continues to lead as the primary source market, Germany has secured the fifth position, with over 50,000 tourists visiting the archipelago to date.
The majority of these visitors opted for resort stays, with air travel remaining the predominant mode of transportation to the country. Despite the fluctuations in arrival figures previously caused by the conflict in the Middle East, the latest tourism statistics indicate a steady and positive recovery.
