The President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Adam Shamil, has announced that the commission will place a high priority on enhancing state procurement processes and the governance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) under its newly unveiled five-year strategic plan.
Key objectives of this plan include the prevention of political corruption, ensuring the integrity and fairness of electoral processes, and establishing transparency within recruitment systems. Furthermore, the commission aims to leverage modern technology to digitalize operations and expedite investigations. To ensure the long-term sustainability of its initiatives, the plan also includes the utilization of the “Maldives Anti-Corruption Trust Fund.”
Additionally, a core focus of the strategic plan is to reform the commission’s internal administrative framework and implement clear guidelines to ensure that cases are concluded within specific, predefined timeframes.
