Ibrahim Falah, the Parliamentary Group Leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC), has issued a sharp critique of former President Abdulla Yameen. Falah suggested that the former President’s recent conduct implies a preference for returning to Maafushi Prison rather than remaining at home with his spouse. He further asserted that had the MDP administration continued its tenure, Yameen would still be incarcerated, noting that his transfer to house arrest was a direct outcome of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s compassionate governance.

Furthermore, responding to Yameen’s comments regarding the national debt, Falah dismissed the remarks as misinformation designed to mislead the public. He emphasized that while the previous administration was characterized by judicial interference and the intimidation of judges, the current government is dedicated to utilizing its parliamentary supermajority exclusively for the advancement and well-being of the Maldivian people.
