The Government has announced strategic changes to the special ministerial committee established by the President to oversee matters concerning the Middle East. As part of this restructuring, the committee’s membership has been streamlined from its original nine members to five.
The committee is now chaired by the Minister of Finance, Moosa Zameer. The remaining members include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, and the Minister of Tourism. This high-level committee continues to provide weekly updates on the measures and actions being taken by the government in response to the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
