Minister of Finance Moosa Zameer has stated that the government has no intention of increasing fuel prices in the Maldives, despite fluctuations in the global market, noting that the national strategic fuel reserve is at an adequate level. As the government implements measures to mitigate the economic impact of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, arrangements have been finalised to secure new fuel shipments through the State Trading Organization (STO). In addition to fuel, the government is prioritising efforts to maintain stable prices for staple foods and other essential services, while ensuring that these arrangements do not adversely affect private businesses.
