The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has stated that discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of cost-cutting measures by the government to ensure the public remains unaffected in the event of a prolonged conflict. The Minister emphasized that to ensure fuel and food security, efforts are being made to diversify fuel sources rather than relying on a single nation, alongside initiatives to increase food reserves. Furthermore, he noted that assistance is being provided to ensure the safety and well-being of Maldivians residing abroad. The Minister also gave his assurance that the Maldives’ airspace will not be permitted for use in any activities related to the conflict.
