The final ten days of Ramadan represent the most sanctified period of the entire year. Within these nights lies Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), a night that surpasses a thousand months in virtue and reward. The precise date of this night has been withheld from the Ummah to inspire devoted worship throughout the entire ten-day period. Following the exemplary path of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)—who would intensify his devotion, spend his nights in prayer, awaken his family for worship, and observe I’tikaf in the mosque—we are encouraged to strive with renewed vigor. He specifically guided the believers to seek this blessed night among the odd-numbered nights of the final stretch.
The noble Companions also dedicated themselves during these days, minimizing sleep to prioritize the recitation of the Holy Quran, the remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and heartfelt supplications. Laylat al-Qadr is the prestigious night during which Allah Almighty ordains the decrees for the coming year. Therefore, as this period offers an incomparable chance for the expiation of sins and the elevation of one’s spiritual standing, casting aside lethargy and striving in sincere devotion is the true path to attaining ultimate success and divine blessings.
