According to the latest statistics released by the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), the state’s revenue in US Dollars for January saw a significant 30% increase compared to the same period last year, totaling over $180 million. The primary contributors to this growth include Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST), Income Tax, Land Acquisition Fees, and various Airport Taxes and Fees. Notably, revenue from Green Tax has doubled during this period. This upward trend follows a strong performance in the previous fiscal year, where total USD revenue rose by 37% year-on-year, reaching a total of $1.4 billion.
