The Ministry of Finance has revealed that MVR 8.6 billion was spent on the government’s Public Sector Investment Programs (PSIP) during the previous year. The highest expenditure was directed towards the transport sector, specifically for airport development, which accounted for MVR 3.4 billion. In addition, significant investments were made in land reclamation, environmental protection, healthcare, water and sewerage systems, as well as housing projects. The Ministry noted that the total spending remained below the MVR 12.4 billion budget approved by Parliament, reflecting effective management and oversight of these projects.
