The practical work on the futsal ground planned for establishment in Addu City Feydhoo has commenced today. The project was inaugurated during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to Addu City. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Minister of Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar, State Minister of Sports and Fitness Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim, along with the constituency’s Parliament Member and the President of Addu City Feydhoo Council.

This project has been entrusted by the government to a private company called Zebok Private Limited. The work is scheduled to be completed within 55 days, and upon completion, this ground will be developed to the most modern standards. When the ground opens with its 20-meter by 40-meter pitch, it will become a facility that brings advancement to the youth of the island. Feydhoo, with a population of approximately 6,000 people, is like other parts of the Maldives where sports are highly appreciated. Futsal, in particular, has become one of the most passionately played sports, and this ground will serve as a venue for hosting numerous tournaments at both island and regional levels, nurturing skilled new talents.

Under the initiative of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, practical work on numerous projects to develop sports throughout the Maldives has already begun. In addition to the grounds and courts being established, running tracks and swimming tracks have been initiated in various parts of the country. The government’s goal is to create a healthy and fit population while developing skilled young athletes in the nation.
