Construction work begins on new police station in Dhangethi

Construction work has begun on the new police station in Dhangethi, South Ari Atoll. The commencement of the construction work in Dhangethi was included as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s current tour to Alif Dhaal Atoll. The President participated in this ceremony. The foundation stone for the police station in Dhangethi was laid by the Minister of Home Affairs and Professional Development, Ali Ihsan. The project is being carried out by the Road Development Corporation.

The government’s aim is to establish police stations and provide police services in all islands of the Maldives within the next two years. So far, police services have been launched in all inhabited islands of 4 atolls by the end of last September. The government believes that the establishment of police stations in all islands of the Maldives will greatly assist in the government’s efforts to build a peaceful society.
