
Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service has been launched in Thaa Atoll. The RTL service in Kolhumadulu (Thaa Atoll) was inaugurated during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing tour of the atoll’s islands. The RTL service was officially launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The work of connecting the islands of the Maldives through a transportation system is being carried out by MTCC, dividing the country into 6 zones. With the launch of RTL service in Thaa Atoll, the service will be provided to 13 inhabited islands in the atoll. With this, 94 islands across 12 atolls in the Maldives have been connected through the RTL ferry service.

Thaa Atoll, where RTL service has now been launched, is part of Zone 4. The Japan International Cooperation Assistance (JICA) is currently conducting a baseline survey to initiate services in the atolls included in Zone 4. In addition to Thaa Atoll, the atolls included in Zone 4 are Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu, and Laamu Atolls. The RTL service is being provided through a collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). This service is delivered through MTCC.
