Israel has launched airstrikes on Doha, Qatar, targeting senior leaders of Hamas, the group governing Gaza in Palestine. According to reports, Israel carried out these attacks while Hamas leaders were in discussions about the latest U.S. proposal to halt the Gaza offensive. The Israeli military has confirmed the attacks on Hamas leaders. The strikes were conducted using fighter jets. Israel attempted to assassinate Khalil al-Hayya, who plays a leading role in Hamas negotiations. He is known to have close ties with Iran and is a member of Hamas’ ruling council. However, a Hamas source has confirmed that he survived the attack.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Israeli attack, describing it as a cowardly act. The ministry stated that the attack violates all international laws and poses a significant threat to the safety and security of people living in Qatar. The ministry also declared that Qatar would not tolerate such actions by Israel. Qatar has now announced the suspension of its role in mediating talks between Zionist Israel and Hamas.
