Sheet Piling Work Completed on Boduthakurufaanu Magu

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the sheet piling work for the development of the seawall as part of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project. Under this project, sheet piling has been done in an area of 132 meters. MTCC stated that the next step will be to fill and reclaim the area where the road is being widened. The development of Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Malé is a project initiated by the government to reduce congestion and make the road more convenient for users. Under this project, the road is being developed to modern standards with asphalt paving. The work also includes the installation of a drainage system.

When Boduthakurufaanu Magu development is completed, it will include 4 lanes for vehicles and a dedicated area for pedestrians. MTCC said that they are working to complete the current phase of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project by October. Under this project, MTCC has been contracted to develop the road from the Malé Market area to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal. This covers an area of 830 meters. Of this, seawall construction work will be carried out along 737 meters.

MTCC was awarded this project for 144 million Rufiyaa. This is one of the busiest areas in Malé. It is also the area that includes the main harbor used by people traveling to and from Malé, as well as many offices. This is also the main area that showcases the waterfront of Malé.
