
The government’s fishing company, Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), has participated in an international fair in China called the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT 25). This fair is taking place from place from the 8th to the 11th of this month in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China. MIFCO has set up a special stall at this fair organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce. Through this stall, tuna products will be introduced and promoted to international parties, they said.
MIFCO’s General Manager of Local Sales and Marketing, Aishath Riyaza, said that at this fair, various MIFCO products will be displayed, and visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to experience these products. She stated that the main purpose of participating in this fair is to expand Maldivian tuna products to international markets. Additionally, Riyaza said that introducing MIFCO’s business to China and opening new doors for Maldivian tuna products is also an objective of participating in this fair. While MIFCO is participating in this ongoing fair in China, they are also participating in the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) fair currently taking place at the Hulhumale’ Central Park. MIFCO said that their stall at the FHAM fair is also receiving a great response.
Furthermore, they stated that participating in such international and national fairs is an important part of MIFCO’s efforts to expand their products and reach a wider audience.
