The foundation stone for Island Aviation’s new office building was laid by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen, Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Muttalib, Managing Director of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Abdul Matheen Mohamed, Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited Ibrahim Ilyas, Deputy Managing Director Ali Saleem, and board members of the company. Island Aviation stated that this was a very special day in the company’s history, marking the end of a 25-year-long wait. The company noted that currently, its employees working in various departments are spread across 5 buildings in Male’, resulting in significant rental expenses for the company.
Therefore, with the new office building, departments operating in Male’ and some departments established at the airport will be brought under one roof, providing significant financial relief to the company, according to Island Aviation. They also expressed confidence that this would further streamline the company’s operations and improve the quality of services provided to customers. The construction of Island Aviation’s new office building has been awarded to China’s Hunan No. 6 Engineering Company. According to the agreement with the company, the building will be constructed on a land area of 4,745 square feet. Additionally, the building will have a total of 12 floors including the basement. The basement is designated for employee parking, and a ticket office will be established on the first floor, as informed by Island Aviation.
The company stated that the building will be spacious and equipped with modern facilities, with the aim of completing the entire construction work before December of the coming year.
