
The Managing Director of Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), Hamdhaan Shakeel, has stated that residents will be able to start living in one of the towers of the flats being constructed in Hulhumalé Phase 2 under the Hiyaa project this week. He said that FDC is working to complete the first tower to a livable state before the end of this week. Under this project, work is ongoing on a total of 4,000 flats in 32 towers of 17-18 stories in Hulhumalé Phase 2. So far, agreements have been signed with approximately 3,000 people to hand over flats. Agreements are being made in the order that the flats are completed. Some people who who have been allocated flats have been given the opportunity to pay the security deposit through the FDC portal.
This project includes two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats.
Two-bedroom flat: Rent 7,000 MVR, Maintenance fee 1,000 MVR, Security deposit 15,000 MVR
Three-bedroom flat: Rent 9,500 MVR, Maintenance fee 1,500 MVR, Security deposit 25,000 MVR
Regarding the list of people receiving flats, after reviewing the previously announced list, the current government has decided to allocate flats based on the November 2023 list. The Housing Ministry had previously stated that the flats would be ready for occupancy by the end of this month.
