Fahmy thanks the President for the opportunity to serve

Hussein Fahmy has expressed his gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for giving him the opportunity to manage the company as the Managing Director of STELCO. The Privatization and Corporatization Board announced today that Fahmy has been removed from the position of Managing Director of STELCO, and Ahmed Shamah Rasheed, the former CEO of MIFCO, has been appointed to the position. With this decision, Fahmy shared a post on social media stating that he thanks President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for honoring him with the highest position in the company during his 27 years of service at STELCO.

Fahmy has also expressed his gratitude to the company’s executives and employees. He also stated that he always wishes for STELCO to progress further and achieve many successes. After serving STELCO for 25 years, Fahmy was appointed as the Managing Director of the company in November 2023, when the current government came to power. Hussein Fahmy is one of the longest-serving employees of the company. He joined STELCO in 1988 as a trainee. Before being appointed as the MD, he held the position of General Manager.
