
Israel has launched powerful airstrikes targeting buildings still standing in Gaza City, Palestine, resulting in the collapse of a high-rise building. This is the second such building demolished by Israel in recent days. Israel has warned residents to evacuate their homes, stating that they will attack Gaza City. Israel is urging residents of Gaza City to relocate to Khan Yunis’ Al-Mawasi area in the south, claiming it to be a safe zone. However, despite previously declaring Al-Mawasi as safe, Israel has bombed the area multiple area multiple times. Gaza residents believe there is no safety whether they go to Al-Mawasi or not. They note that Al-Mawasi has received some of the most intense bombing in the past year and a half.
Israel’s latest attack, aimed at forcing thousands of Gaza City residents to evacuate, targeted a 15-story building in the area. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz shared a video showing the attack and collapse of the residential Al-Sousi Tower. Israel has warned of similar attacks on other high-rise buildings in the coming days. Of Gaza’s population of over two million, about one million people currently reside in Gaza City or nearby areas. While Israel has taken control of 75% of Gaza, as part of their efforts to gain complete control, they have now seized over 40% of Gaza City.
In the genocidal attacks launched by Israel on October 7, 2023, to exterminate the people of Gaza, 64,368 people have been martyred so far, including over 18,000 children. In the past 24 hours alone, 23 people were martyred in Gaza, with 13 of them in Gaza City. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has severely deteriorated due to the lack of aid supplies and food. The number of people dying from hunger is also increasing day by day.
